CARE Homecare (“CARE Homecare,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates carehomecare.com (the “Site”). We are a non-medical home care organization registered with the California Department of Social Services (Home Care Organization License #19470013), providing in-home caregiving across Los Angeles and Orange County. 

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect through the Site, how we use and share it and the privacy rights and choices available to you as a California resident. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Scope of This Policy

This policy covers information collected through our website. It does not govern the confidential client records we maintain when we deliver home care, including care plans and intake forms. Those records are handled under the separate confidentiality protections described under “Health and Care Information” below.

If you are a current client, a family member or a responsible party, the service agreement and notices you received at intake govern the personal and care-related information tied to your services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, information collected automatically and information from service providers acting on our behalf.

Information you provide. When you request a free consultation, submit a contact form, apply through our careers page or call or text us, we may collect:

  • Identifiers such as your name, postal address, email address and phone number.
  • Inquiry details such as the type of care needed, schedule and the situation you choose to share.
  • Caregiver applicant information, including background and credential details, submitted through our hiring process.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers may collect IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, time spent and similar usage data through cookies and related technologies.

Information from third parties. We may receive limited information from advertising, analytics or referral sources, including hospital discharge planners or case managers who refer a prospective client with appropriate authorization.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information to respond to consultation requests, schedule and coordinate care inquiries, evaluate caregiver applicants, communicate by phone, email or SMS, improve the Site, measure marketing, maintain security and meet our legal and registration obligations.

We use website usage data to understand how visitors find and use our pages so we can improve content. We do not use the Site to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small files that help the Site work, remember preferences and measure performance. We use necessary cookies for core functionality and analytics cookies to understand usage. Where enabled, we may use advertising cookies to measure and improve our marketing.

How We Share Information

We share personal information only as described here. We share with service providers and contractors (such as hosting, analytics, communications and scheduling vendors) that process information on our behalf and are contractually limited to that purpose.

We may share information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect the safety of clients, caregivers or the public, enforce our terms or investigate fraud. In a merger, acquisition or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some analytics and advertising technologies may involve “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out using the controls in “Your Privacy Choices.”

Health and Care Information

CARE Homecare provides non-medical home care. We do not provide skilled nursing or medical treatment, and our website is not designed to collect medical records or detailed health histories.

When we deliver services, we may create client records, such as a care plan, that include health-related details. We treat that information as confidential. We handle any medical information consistent with the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) and the client-record and registry requirements of the California Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act.

Please do not submit sensitive health details through website forms. Share that information directly with our care coordinators during your consultation instead.

Your California Privacy Rights

California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (the “CCPA”), gives California residents specific rights. To the extent the CCPA applies to us, and as a matter of policy regardless, you may request to:

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

Medical information protected under the CMIA is generally exempt from the CCPA, so some rights may apply differently to that information.

To submit a request, contact us by phone, email or our online form. We will verify your request before responding and will reply within the timeframes California law requires. Your Privacy Choices

To opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and to limit certain cookies, you can:

  • Use our “Your Privacy Choices” link in the Site footer, where available.
  • Enable a browser-based opt-out preference signal such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC). We treat a recognized GPC signal as a valid opt-out request for the browser or device that sends it.
  • Adjust cookie controls in your browser settings.

Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Because there is still no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” (DNT), we do not respond to DNT signals at this time. We do honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including GPC, as described above.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, to meet our registration and legal obligations or to resolve disputes. Client and caregiver records are retained for the periods required by the regulations that apply to our registration.

Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No website or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us promptly.

Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites, such as job portals or senior care resources. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults arranging care for themselves or a loved one. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. If you believe a child provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

SMS and Text Messaging

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, we may send appointment confirmations, scheduling updates and information about our services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Mobile information collected for SMS consent is not shared with third parties for their own marketing. See our Terms of Use for full SMS program terms.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology or our practices. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date and post the new version on this page.
